Launched:Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V & Xperia Pro

Sony Ericsson launched two new Android smartphones and revealed a new tie up with Airtel at a press conference in Bangalore. The two latest entrants to Sony Ericsson's Android line up are the Xperia Neo V and the Xperia Pro.


The Xperia Neo V is an Android 2.3.4 nicknamed Gingerbread powered smartphone with a 3.7-in baclit capacitive touchscreen that has a resolution of 480x854 pi. Neo has 320 MB of internal storage and 512 MB RAM and supports microSD cards up to 32 GB.Imaging is taken care of by a  5MP autofocus camera that can also record 720p videos. the Neo V is powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm Scorpion processor and an Adreno 205 GPU .It is priced Rs. 18,000

The Xperia Pro is also an Android Gingerbread smartphone and its distinguishing feature is its slide-out four-row QWERTY keyboard. You can also control the phone using its 3.7-in touchscreen that shares the same specs with the Neo V. The Xperia Pro is mostly similar to the Neo V apart from the fact that it's about 20 grams heavier and Sony Ericsson is expecting more business users to opt for it. The Xperia Pro is priced at Rs. 23,995.

Sony Ericsson also announced a tie-up with Airtel to provide deals on 3G services on the phones using Airtel's network. The phone manufacturer also revealed that their Xperia line-up of smartphones now included the two new phones, the Ray, the Active, the Mini Pro, the Mini, the Arc and the Play. The non-Android devices in Sony Ericsson's portfolio includes the TXT and the TXT Pro.
